Project Overview

South Reno Fermentory, a conceptual craft brewery, needed a distinct brand identity that felt wild, bold, and completely unfiltered — just like the beers it brews. I developed a complete visual system anchored by expressive mascots and a gritty design language, resulting in an unforgettable brand that leaps off shelves and sticks in the mind.

From illustrated can art to merch and taproom visuals, every piece was crafted to reflect the brewery’s untamed spirit and high-desert roots.

Challenge

The goal was to create a brand that stood out in a crowded craft beer market — something edgy and character-driven but still cohesive and recognizable. The artwork needed to work across multiple mediums: aluminum cans, apparel, stickers, signage, and digital content — without losing the brand’s raw personality.

Solution

I built the identity around The Feral Crew, a cast of offbeat mascots that bring each beer’s personality to life. These hand-drawn illustrations were designed to be expressive and slightly chaotic, creating a strong emotional connection with fans.

Typography and layout decisions were made with screen printing and merchandising in mind — everything is bold, legible, and ready to make a scene. The color palette leans into high contrast and earthy tones, giving the brand a grounded yet rebellious edge.
